These are made of a finely woven mesh (see image) so they also do a pretty decent job of keeping pet hair contained within should you choose to use it to wash your dogs gear.

100% polyester mesh with a zip. Tuck the end of the zip under the little elastic cover to keep it zipped up during the wash.
